dub

This is a personal design project taking the facebook platform and making a phone around it. Building on a already successful interface. dub contains some great features such as a split braille input, and a real time RFID based crowd search. “getting laid, was never so easy”.

Please post your comments and suggestions here.

  3. Ben, I wrote about this today and then did a search as I thought someone must have thought about it before. Sure enough, I came across your site.
I’m not sure it needs to be as complex as the Dub, just being able to use the interface and call people in the Facebook friends list (instead of the phone list on the phone), upload a photo directly, type a status message in the SMS interface and, as you hinted at, detect and browse details of people close by.
This, or something like it, will eventually be made, I’m sure of it.

  4. Thanks for the posting paul. I have added the facebook phone to the http://www.crowdspirit.com/ platform. Where the product may even go into development.

  5. I don’t wish to appear dull, but you could do worse than to run a spell-checker over your promotional material, correct the grammar, and generally sort out the extremely vapid style. You might not like blogging (a fact supported by your used of a friggin’ 200px square for a comment textarea here), but if you can’t explain what the device does in simple terms, it’s not going to get very far. Please accept this as the constructive criticism that it is intended to be.
