Vote for Cuppa. The social living room UMPC.
February 15, 2008

I have just found out that I’m a finalist for the Next Gen PC design competition. This year I created a laptop type device that can use TV’s as a ambient monitor, and use the cuppa as a more focused monitor.
I don’t know if I’m the a ‘winner’ yet, but if you like it, please send me public v

I think it would be more viable if it was designed so that it would fit into a standard jacket pocket when folded. That way it would double as a pocket laptop. I do not see the value in why one would buy one, although it looks sleek but a bit big?

Hi Al, thanks for the comment. The device is designed to stay in the home and be as comfortable as a keyboard. The unique selling point is that the device can use monitors in your home to display ambient information, while the screen on the Cuppa will supply more detailed information.

Hi Ben. Your site is great, I’ve always been fascinated by product design. I fixed Commet, I had forgotten to change over all my server calls from www to labs, thanks for pointing it out to me. Good luck with the Microsoft competition, I voted!
